Goth is a lifestyle and it is a means of expressing one self through the medium of art. Some express their thoughts through music while some express themselves through arts and crafts. One of the most common ways that goth people would express themselves would be through making dolls. It is actually quite easy to be a gothic doll maker if one is interested in doing this sort of thing.
Now if one would want to start, there are two things he can do in order to get a plain doll to start off with. Now the first way would be of course to start from nothing by buying some thick threads and weaving them to create the body of the figure. However, do take note that in order to do this, one would be needing some crochet skills.
The other way would be to simply just buy an existing rag doll. So using either of these two methods, one will already be able to have a plain doll. So the first step in this process would be to create the clothes for the little figurine.
Now in order to create the clothes, it would be easier if one would have a pattern that can be followed. These patterns can be found in hobby shops as well as the internet. Of course the clothes have to be goth inspired since these are goth dolls anyway.
Now as for the color combination of the clothes, it would usually be something of a mix of red and black with some white. Of course the male dolls would have some long sleeves and long pants with accessories. The females on the other hand would have black skirts usually and high socks.
Once the clothes are already made, then the next thing to do would be to fill in the other details of the figurine. First thing to think about would of course be the hair. Most goth dolls actually have long hair for both male and female genders. The male ones would have medium long or spikey hair while the females would have long straight or tied up hair. The color would usually range from black and yellow to even red or violet.
The last part to take note of now would be the face. Now the facial expression of the figurine is one of the most important things to take note of. Now one can either make it cute or a little bit scary however one thing in common found in all goth dolls would be that they would have a poker face. The design of its face can then be made in any way that the creator would want.
