It is important for the candidate to clear the preliminary exams in order to sit for the Mains examination. The marks scored in the Preliminary are just for the qualifying nature and it is not added or considered later in the selection procedure. Once the Mains examination is cleared the candidate then can appear for the Interview or the final phase of the selection procedure.
The personality test or the personal interview is the last stage of the competition and the last elimination stage of the competition. Here the ratio for the selection is 1:2 and the twice the number of seats the candidates appear for the interview. For example there are 50 seats available then a total of 100 candidates are selected for the interview.
