By Guada Perez

If you are expecting a baby, you are probably already considering what you are going to name this new life. One of the most common questions of expectant parents is what are the most popular baby names in the USA for this year? Here are a few of the trends.

The Hipsters - Although hipsters prefer avoiding the mainstream to assert their individuality, these options have become very common. They offer artsy, trendy options that help to ensure a child grows up to join the cool crowd. Parents of males may select from Bryon, Atticus, Otis or Gus. Girls include Stella, Edie, Clementine, Alice and Piper.

Girls with a traditional boy name - While not totally new, it seems to be growing in popularity. It is one of the trends that have grown more common with the stars, such as Jessica Simson (Maxwell) and Johnny Knoxville (Arlo). Corey, Dylan, Hunter, and Riley are other possibilities.

The Spicy Child - To find options that are becoming more popular, you may just need to look in your spice cabinet. Parents are selecting herbs instead of trees and flowers. Anise, Lavender, Bay, and Saffron are just a few examples.

The good boys - While character traits, including Faith, Grace, and Hope, have enjoyed popularity for girls for several years; the boys are now receiving a virtuous name as well. Perhaps they reflect the parent's desire for the little guy to grow into his name. Some good examples are Ernest, Justice, Righteous and Valor.

Genealogy Girls - An old fashioned name for a little girl is also. Although Anna and Ruby have been used heavily for several years, more adventuresome may be checking out their genealogy to find potential options. Look for a lot of girls named Edith, Dorothy, Joy, Ivy, and Sylvia, which are likely.

After the Pope - The election of Pope Francis, the People's Pope. Along with his declaration, that moms should be free to breastfeed in church and his decision to baptize babies of parents not married in the Roman Catholic Church, have made him adored by parents. Frank and Francis are expected to become more common for boys.

End of the Alphabet - Z options grew common a couple of years ago. The last letters of the alphabet remain desirable, especially in adding a Y or two to the spelling, sometimes of the name of a recently common name. Nathan, Layla, and Rylee are just a few.

Game of Thrones and pop culture - Since the days of the silver screen, parents have named their children after their favorite characters. The growing popularity of Game of Thrones had made choices such as Bran, Catelyn, Khaleesi, Sansa, Theron, and Tyrion more common. Consider the currently highly ranked television shows, books and movies as other sources.

The Royal Baby - While the US has not been a part of Britain for over 230 years. The people continue to enamor with royalty, especially the new royal baby, Prince George, who is likely to someday, become King George. This fascination has revived the use of options gathered from the House of Windsor, including Harry, Charles, William and Louis for boys. Girls may be named Victoria, Elizabeth or Anne due to the renewed interest.
